Celebrities Who Didn't Make The Grade in Learning
If you haven't done as well as you thought you would in your exams, or have failed a few - don't worry! There are lots of options still available to you to achieve big things. Just look at these celebs who did just that!
Simon Cowell is a TV Producer and executive who you probably know from judging on X Factor, America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent. Did you know that he actually dropped out of school at the age of 16? He took a job at the very bottom of the record industry as a mail clerk and moved his way up to where he is today.
The Hollywood actress, known for starring with some of the most famous actors in the business (Leonardo Dicaprio, Ryan Gosling and Andrew Garfield to name a few...) was rejected from every drama school she applied for, before getting a role in Pride & Prejudice alongside Keira Knightley.
The founder and CEO of Tumblr left school at 14 so he could intern for an animation producer. This sparked his interest in computers, and he later went on to launch Tumblr in 2007. Yahoo recently bought Tumblr for $1.1 billion dollars (and Karp is still the CEO).
Richard Branson is a businessman who has made billions having founded Virgin, which today runs an airline, a trainline, a leisure and fitness service, a phone company, experience days and an internet/television service - to name just a few. This all despite being dyslexic and quitting school at the age of 16! Today, Branson is one of the richest men in the world with an estimated fortune of $4.2 billion!
